Soap star and horror film legend Lar Park Lincoln dies aged 63

Lar Park-Lincoln, a star from American soap Knots Landing, has died at the age of 63.

The star played the character of Linda Fairgate in the show on and off from 1987 through to 1991.

Shortly before she joined the soap, Lar became a cast member of horror film Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. She portrayed a woman with telekinesis, who went up against Jason Voorhees.

Across her incredible career, Lar was also a guest star on Murder, She Wrote, and often featured on the home shopping channel QVC.

Her cause of death remains undisclosed, with her dead being announced by the Actors Audition Studios on Thursday.

Posting on social media platform Facebook to confirm the news, the firm – which was founded by Lar – said her family ‘requests privacy’ at this time and also noted: ‘In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The SAG-AFTRA Foundation or The Entertainment Community Fund.’

When Lar was a child, she decided she wanted to become an actor. She was born Laurie Jill Park to a military family in Dallas.

She dipped her toe in the modelling industry to start, but previously stated that she always had her ‘eye on acting’. Lar also featured in adverts and attended acting classes, passionate about learning more about the craft.

Ultimately, Lar’s dream of breaking into the acting world came in 1985, in the TV film Children of the Night.

Lar was diagnosed with breast cancer in the past, and underwent 17 surgeries in the space of around five years.

Knots Landing was an American television soap opera that aired on CBS from 1979-1993. It was a spin off of Dallas, and set in a coastal suburb.

It initially focused on the lives of four married couples and throughout the time it aired, narratives were broadcasted about topics including marital problems, drug smuggling, politics and criminal investigations.

Shortly before the show ended, it became the third longest-running primetime drama on American television.
