Just over one month ago, Adult Swim viewers were given a shock when Smiling Friends creators and co-stars Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel announced that the beloved animated series would be ending after Season 3's conclusion. The decision came completely out of left field, considering the network had already picked up the comedy for two additional seasons, and it was easily one of its biggest success stories since Rick & Morty. However, in their official video breaking it all down, they explained how burnt out they felt from the years they put into making the vibrant, surreal hit, and how the most recent run felt like a natural endpoint. That doesn't mean they're leaving the series alone forever, though.
