'Sinners' Casts Out 'A Minecraft Movie' in Domestic Box Office Debut

Thanks to incredible reviews and a fantastic reception from audiences, director Ryan Coogler's Sinners is exceeding expectations in its domestic box office debut. Sinners marks a reunion for Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan; they broke out together with the indie hit Fruitvale Station over a decade ago. In this decade, their careers have grown concurrently. They also worked together on hits such as Creed and Black Panther. Sinners is Coogler's first original film since Fruitvale Station all those years ago, and, as things stand, could catapult him into a rarified space occupied only by folks like Christopher Nolan and Jordan Peele.
