HBO has released plenty of new movies and TV shows so far in 2026, but few have earned as many viewing minutes as The Pitt Season 2, which spent months atop Nielsen charts as one of the most-watched shows of the year. The Pitt Season 2 wrapped up back in April, but HBO has left no doubt about the future of the series, doubling down and renewing the show for Season 3 in the days before the Season 2 premiere. Production on Season 3 kicked off at the beginning of the summer and is still ongoing, which should leave the team with little to no trouble hitting the same release deadline in January for the next season. Things are going to look a little different at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center come Season 3, though.
