Sha’Carri Richardson Drops 1-Word as Family Member Marks Track & Field Milestone

“Without them, there would be no me,” Sha’Carri Richardson told NBC Sports in a 2021 post-race interview. “Without my grandmother, there would be no Sha’Carri Richardson. My family is my everything — my everything until the day I’m done.” It took a whole village to get her where she is now. The GOAT tag that she dons today came from the support and hard work of her grandmother and a mother-like aunt. She knows the meaning of family not just in words, but in action, and every now and then, she makes sure the world sees it too. This week, she did it again — in the most Sha’Carri way possible.

Sha’Carri Richardson isn’t the only athlete in the family. Her brother, Calvin Harp — known on Instagram as @bigmac__throws_ — is making his own mark in the field events world. On June 13, 2025, Calvin shared a series of shot put videos on his gram, proudly announcing a personal record with the caption, “PR today!!!” And when your sibling is one of the fastest women on Earth, celebrations are bound to be loud — and full of love. So, how did Sha’Carri react?

The track and field athlete first took to the comment section of the post to drop a “PR!!!!!!!!!!” in it. Then she took this post to her Instagram story and wrote,” AYEEEEEEEEE“. And this is not the first time Sha’carri had done that. The track and field great commented, “You are greatness !!!” on one of Calvin’s videos where he was doing a disc throw.

Back in April, Harp had posted another video of him practicing the disc throw, and once again, Sha’Carri Richardson was in the comment section writing, “Ayeeee.” Sha’Carri and Calvin first hit the light when the whole of the track and field athletes’ family were invited for a photoshoot ahead of the Paris Olympics. Her other cousins, Natalie Byers, Aniyah Davis, Kyle Harp, and Bella Harp, also appeared in the shoot by Vogue.
