Sadie covers her tracks in Emmerdale – but her downfall looms

Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) had an important task to do in Emmerdale today as part of her efforts to hide her secret about Jimmy King (Nick Miles).

Shortly after her comeback, Sadie revealed to Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) that she had been in a secret relationship with Jimmy for three years.

Nicola was staggered, and couldn’t help but wonder if Sadie was lying. The troublesome face seemingly backed up her comments about Jimmy by providing Nicola with selfies of them both, and information about their children that only Jimmy would’ve told her.

Much to our relief, Jimmy didn’t betray his beloved Nico for a secret romance with Sadie. It turns out the character is broke, and created the story about Jimmy in an attempt to get close to Nicola and source a secret stash of money that Jimmy had hidden.

Sadie realised Nicola was close to discovering her lies earlier this week, when she learnt that young Carl had found a file on Jimmy’s laptop with backed up messages and voice notes. This meant that Nicola could easily work her way through them and discover proof that Jimmy definitely wasn’t in a relationship with Sadie.

In today’s episode, Sadie snuck into the King household to access the laptop. She found a voice note from Jimmy to Nicola, where he called her his ‘one and only’. Sadie quickly deleted it.

This week, Sadie’s quest to find Jimmy’s money takes her and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) to a golf club.

Following behind them is Nicola and Rodney (Patrick Mower), but who will find the money first?

Once she gets home, Nicola finds Carl in a state having lost his presentation he made for his dad, so she logs onto Jimmy’s laptop and finds the voicemails, and starts to listen.

As iconic as Sadie’s return has been, all good things must come to an end, as we know now that Patsy will film as her Emmerdale alter-ego until December.

Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper recently reflected on the star’s return, and what lies ahead in Sadie’s exit story:

‘As for how that story concludes, we are building to the end point and a big denouement for that character,’ she said in a chat with Inside Soap.

‘Sadie’s momentum, and the impact she’s going to have on our villagers, is only going to grow. There will be some incredible, exciting twists and turns, and a lot of unexpected revelations.’
