2026 has been a slow year for Ridley Scott, who finally returned to the sci-fi genre for the release of his new movie, The Dog Stars. Scott had taken some time off from sci-fi movies after last directing Alien: Covenant in 2017, but he was ready to return to the genre he helped revolutionize after less than 10 years.
