Pierre-Luc Dubois looks to be escaping punishment.

The Washington Capitals forward is not expected to face supplementary discipline for his Tuesday hit on St. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas, per Blues reporter Andy Strickland on Wednesday

Dubois received a match penalty for attempt to injure on the play.

The play occurred midway through the third period as the Blues had a scoring chance in the Capitals’ end. Thomas appeared to initiate contact with Dubois, but Dubois wrapped his arms around Thomas and spun the Blues forward down to the ice.

Thomas was injured on the play but was also given a two-minute interference penalty for his role in the collision. He did not return to the game, but head coach Jim Montgomery provided a positive update post-game.

“He’s fine, he passed protocol. He’s healthy,” said Montgomery.

Dubois has appeared in just 20 games this season, recording four goals and five assists.

The Capitals are back in action Thursday on the road against the Utah Mammoth.
