Reacher Season 4: Lee Child’s Book Inspiring New Season Possibly Revealed

Lee Child, the author of the Jack Reacher book series, has potentially revealed which of his novels will be adapted for Season 4 of Reacher on Prime Video. The first season was based on Child’s 1997 debut novel, Killing Floor, while the second season was an adaptation of 2007’s Bad Luck and Trouble. The show’s third season adapted the 2003 novel Persuader.

Child took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared an image, confirming that the fourth season of the series is on the way. He shared a photo of what appears to be the script for Season 4, with the caption simply reading, “REACHER S4… #REACHER.” The photo seems to have been taken in a subway car. This potentially indicates that Season 4 will adapt the 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book in the series, as this story begins with Reacher on the New York City Subway.

All eight episodes of Reacher Season 1 premiered on Prime Video on February 4, 2022, and the series quickly became a hit with critics and viewers. The following two seasons followed promptly in a more spread-out release pattern, with Season 2’s episodes premiering between December 15, 2023, and January 19, 2024, and Season 3’s between February 20, 2025, and March 27, 2025.

In October 2024, the show’s success had already prompted Prime Video to renew it for a fourth season even before the third season premiered. Amazon MGM Studios’ head of television, Vernon Sanders, said at the time, “Reacher has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations, and we are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season.” (via Deadline)

Notably, neither Prime Video nor producers associated with the show have yet announced which book will be adapted for the fourth season, though production is slated to start in summer 2025.
