Chris Pratt fans came into the year with a lot to be excited about, with his sci-fi thriller Mercy being one of the first films to hit the big screen. Despite the combined star power of Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson (Silo, Dune: Part Two), Mercy bombed at the box office under the weight of its $60 million budget, but it went on to become one of the most successful streaming hits of the year on Prime Video. Pratt didn’t have to wait long to find box office redemption with the release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which was the first feature film of the year to reach $1 billion at the box office. He’s also expected to return as Star-Lord later this year in Avengers: Doomsday, but this has not been officially confirmed.
