As the Toronto Raptors return from a six-day layoff, a key player will remain out of the lineup.

RJ Barrett won’t play Monday against the Miami Heat as he continues to nurse a right knee sprain, the Raptors announced on Sunday.

Barrett was scheduled to be re-evaluated Monday after he received a platelet-rich plasma injection on week prior.

The Raptors have struggled since Barrett went down during a Nov. 23 game against the Brooklyn Nets, losing six of nine.

Barrett, of Mississauga, Ont., was enjoying a strong start to his season before being sidelined with averages of 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 30.9 minutes in 17 games.

He scored at least 20 points 10 times while firing at a 35.6 per cent rate from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, Jamison Battle, who missed Tuesday’s NBA Cup quarterfinal loss to the New York Knicks, is listed as probable with a left knee sprain.

Immanuel Quickley, who did not play in that game either due to illness, was off the injury report entirely.
