Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expanding their slate at Netflix with a newly revealed television project. Details about the series remain limited, but it marks their continued involvement in developing scripted content for the platform.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are executive producing a scripted polo drama series in development at Netflix, according to Deadline. Archewell Productions and Fake Empire are creating the project, with Francisca X. Hu writing the script.

The untitled drama takes place in Wellington, Florida, and follows the dynamics between two rival polo teams and the families that lead them. It presents an upstairs-downstairs story that explores relationships within a competitive equestrian environment.

Hu executive produces alongside Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archewell’s head of scripted content Tracy Ryerson, and Fake Empire’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The creators developed the series from the 2024 docuseries Polo, which followed teams competing in the U.S. Open Polo Championship.

The docuseries focused on family dynasties, and Prince Harry, an avid polo player, developed it as a passion project. It ran for one season and expanded on the sport often referred to as the “sport of kings.”

The polo drama is among several projects the pair have in development at Netflix under their first-look deal. These include film adaptations of The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory and Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune.

Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said, “We still have a relationship with them, We have movies in development with them. They have things in development on the TV and film side.” She added, “Deals come and go all the time.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s most successful Netflix project remains the 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan, which recorded the platform’s most watched docuseries debut. The new scripted series marks Hu’s reunion with Schwartz and Savage following Dynasty.

Work on the series continues amid development activity across television and film projects linked to Archewell.
