For years, the most exciting spinoff the John Wick franchise had in the works was Ana de Armas' Ballerina, as it promised to finally dive into a corner of the criminal underworld not centered on Keanu Reeves' near-invincible assassin. And yet, despite its title, its fight scenes rarely felt like they leaned into the ballet of it all. The film just pulled from the fight style of its four acclaimed predecessors.
