As scheduled, the Sanrio Character Ranking 2026 Interim Results are in, and the latest status update on the official site suggested Pompompurin could end up named the company’s most popular mascot again. The figures covered votes cast between April 9, 2026 and May 6, 2026. This could mean the second win in the row for the yellow dog, as he took first place in 2025. As a reminder, we’ll likely see the winner appear more often on merchandise.

This marks a swap from the Initial Results Sanrio shared in April 2026. Cinnamoroll took first place at that point, and Pompompurin dropped to second in this round of the Sanrio Character Ranking. The two swapped spots for this check-in. Pochacco remains in third to round out the top three.

Sanrio again shared the most popular characters by region, this time bringing up all of the top 10 mascots in each area. Here’s who’s on top everywhere. Like with the last check-in, Pompompurin and Cinnamoroll ended up in top in most places. Pompompurin knocked Cinnamoroll out of first place in countries like Brazil, Italy, South Korea, and the US this time.
