Released as a spin-off to the mainline Pokémon video game series, Pokémon Colosseum launched in the early 2000s for the GameCube. Unlike previous installments that would allow players to encounter random Pokémon on their travels, Colosseum introduced a unique feature where players could "snag" other Trainer's 'mons, and engage in both single-player and multiplayer battles.
