Peter Kay has been forced to reschedule two nights of his ongoing UK tour after undergoing surgery in hospital.
The Bolton comedian, 52, has been touring consistently ever since he announced his long-awaited comeback to stand-up comedy in 2022.
However, in a statement posted to X, Kay revealed that two shows in Nottingham have been moved from October to December after ‘routine surgery’.
‘We regret to inform you that due to a routine kidney stone procedure, Peter will be unable to perform his scheduled shows at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on Sunday 5th October and Monday 6th October.’
The statement continued: ‘Following medical advice, Peter will be taking a period of time to rest and recover. All tickets remain valid for the new dates. If you are unable to attend, refunds will be available from your point of purchase.’
The show on October 5 will now take place on December 11, while the October 6 show has been moved to December 12 – fans were thanked for their understanding and patience.
Kay’s Better Late Than Never Tour is the first string of live shows he’s performed ever since taking an extended hiatus in 2017, following the cancellation of his Have Gags, Will Travel tour.
In solidarity with his fans during the cost of living crisis, Kay ensured that tickets for his Better Late Than Never shows were available at prices they would have been charged in 2017.
This is a developing story…
