Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan is set to undergo surgery for a rotator cuff injury. He visited Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on Monday, where doctors diagnosed severe damage to his rotator cuff along with tears in two shoulder muscles. Although the surgery was advised immediately, the Gabbar Singh star has chosen to postpone the procedure to complete his official and government commitments first.
The injury reportedly has a long history. Pawan's shoulder problems are said to stem from years of being pulled and grabbed by fans during rallies, roadshows, and election campaigns, where large crowds often surge forward to greet him. He has previously spoken about being handled roughly during such events, which he believes contributed to long-term strain on his neck and shoulders. Despite the discomfort, he has continued interacting with supporters rather than avoiding public contact.
Two surgeries this year
Earlier this year, Pawan underwent Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. He is also currently observing Chaturmasya Deeksha, a period of religious austerity.
OG 2 scripting underway
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan recently announced OG 2, reuniting with director Sujeeth to expand the OG Universe. The sequel will explore the origins of his gangster character, Ojas Gambheera, with composer Thaman returning for the project. The announcement comes after the success of They Call Him OG. The film is presently in pre-production. A picture of Pawan and director Sujeeth discussing about the sequel was recently released by the makers much to the fans delight. Over the past year, Pawan has also starred in Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Ustaad Bhagat Singh. OG 2 is expected to go on floors later this year. Also Read: Family, Fans Wish Pawan Kalyan Speedy Recovery After His Surgery
