Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” trailer launched on May 17th, pulling in 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours – making it the biggest trailer debut of all time.

Thus it comes as little surprise that after four days, the title has now reached 1.1 billion views per analysts WaveMetrix. That makes it the first film trailer ever to surpass the 1 billion views mark and locking in its status as the biggest movie trailer in history.

The previous film, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” grossed $1.9 billion at the global box office and anticipation for the new title is at a record high.

The new film is set several years on. Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is now an early twentysomething living alone after erasing himself and the memories of him from everyone – instead, devoting himself wholeheartedly to protecting his city as Spider-Man full-time.

The stress triggers an unexpected physical change that threatens his existence, while a strange wave of crime emerges – and gives rise to one of the most dangerous threats he has ever faced.

Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo co-star in the film, which Destin Daniel Cretton directs. It opens in cinemas on July 31st.
