An adult-oriented Disney+ superhero series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now dominating streaming charts, following the release of its second installment. The inaugural season premiered last year to widespread critical acclaim, with fans lauding the story and characterization. Notably, a third chapter, now in production, is expected to launch next year.
Daredevil: Born Again is leading the streaming battle on Disney+
Daredevil: Born Again, which targets an adult audience, is the #1 series on Disney+ worldwide as of March 26, 2026, according to streaming analytics site FlixPatrol. Season 2 premiered two days earlier on the streamer.
The show thus surpasses all nine other shows in the top 10 list. These include Love Story (#2), Paradise (#3), High Potential (#4), Lucky Luke (#5), 011CE: New Generation (#6), Rooster Fighter (#7), Scrubs (#8), Grey’s Anatomy (#9), and Desperate Housewives (#10).
Season 2 has garnered positive reviews from critics, who view it as a step up from the previous one in terms of story and tone. It holds impressive scores on Rotten Tomatoes, boasting “certified fresh” 95% critical and robust 94% audience ratings. The numbers are considerably higher than those held by the previous installment, which are an 87% “certified fresh” and 78%.
The show’s second outing comprises eight episodes, each releasing weekly until May 5, 2026. Picking up from where the first one left off, the story continues Matt Murdock (Daredevil) and Wilson Fisk’s (Kingpin) growing conflict, with the former and Karen Page building a resistance group to combat Fisk’s Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Meanwhile, Fisk crosses paths with Mr. Charles, an influential power player working for the CIA.
Dario Scardapane co-created Daredevil: Born Again with Matt Corman and Chris Ord and also serves as showrunner. Returning cast members include Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Margarita Levieva, Tony Dalton, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, Arty Froushan, Genneya Walton, Clark Johnson, Zabryna Guevara, Ayelet Zurer, Elden Henson, and Wilson Bethel.
Meanwhile, new additions include Matthew Lillard and Krysten Ritter, the latter reprising her role of Jessica Jones from the eponymous Netflix series and The Defenders, both now streaming on Disney+.
