New CMC AI Endpoints Make CoinMarketCap’s Industry-Leading API Even More Powerful

CoinMarketCap has added a CMC AI endpoint family to its Pro API, making the AI-generated insights that appear across CoinMarketCap’s homepage and Coin Detail Pages available to developers as structured data. The endpoints return the same questions, answers and underlying sources in JSON, so they can be built directly into products rather than read on the site.

Most crypto data APIs return prices, volumes and market capitalizations. The new CMC AI endpoints add an explanation layer on top of that data. Three endpoints ship together: a market feed covering trending narratives, sentiment, momentum and top news, refreshed every 30 minutes; a per-cryptocurrency endpoint returning a fixed set of questions for each of the top 100 assets by market capitalization, from why a price moved today to what is next on its roadmap and what changed in its codebase; and a coverage map showing which assets currently have content available.

Each answer is returned pre-split into a short summary and a longer body in markdown, alongside the source URLs it draws on and a count of the total sources behind it. Source links are canonicalized and deduplicated. Content is retrieved from CoinMarketCap’s database rather than generated on request, so responses are consistent and repeatable.

The release extends an interface that already covers spot and derivatives markets, decentralized exchange and on-chain data, real-world assets, proprietary indices including the CoinMarketCap Fear and Greed Index, and real-time streaming, all under a single API integration.

The CMC AI family is available on Enterprise plans at launch. A separate monthly AI credit allowance that opens the endpoints to all other plan tiers, including the free tier, is scheduled to follow in a subsequent release.
