Fans of long-form genre storytelling have their work cut out this week, with two new shows dropping on Netflix alone. The first is a horror limited series executive-produced by the Duffer Brothers. It's titled Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, and it tells the story of a couple facing unexpected demons in the week leading up to their wedding. The second show is effectively a reboot, as Netflix has previously done with Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen and the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender. The nine-episode mystery is based on a series of popular thriller novels that was previously adapted into an infamous movie starring Michael Fassbender and Rebecca Ferguson. The show promises to be a more faithful adaptation of the source material, much like Prime Video's Reacherseries, which followed the two theatrical films starring Tom Cruise.
