Although a lot of shows tried to imitate Black Mirror’s approach, these short-lived competitors soon learned that the Netflix sci-fi anthology series was making a difficult genre trick look effortless. Black Mirror has changed a lot throughout the show’s seven seasons. Early on, the show’s first two seasons had a grim, grey aesthetic and an overwhelmingly bleak tone.
