One of the most exciting movies currently in production is The Peasant, a period epic filmed on location in the mountains and deserts of India with Dev Patel at the helm. It’s a revenge saga about a shepherd who seeks vengeance against the knights who killed his family, described as a combination of Braveheart and John Wick. Patel made his directorial debut with another John Wick-adjacent movie, Monkey Man, which was released in theaters a few years ago. Patel has worked with some of the most talented filmmakers in his acting career, and he seems to be applying all the knowledge and experience he has gained to directing. Among his most memorable recent movies was another epic in which he played a man on a quest.
