Mindhunter could make two people talking across a table feel more unnerving than most crime shows managed with an entire murder. Holden Ford and Bill Tench spent hours interviewing killers, picking apart the way they described their crimes. That patience was a huge part of what made David Fincher’s series so difficult to replace after Netflix ended it. Unabomber works in a similar sense, slowing down long enough to ask who Ted Kaczynski was before the FBI finally knew his name.
