After the success of HBO's fantasy horror series True Blood, every network wanted to replicate it, but NBC's attempt never received the attention it deserved. In 2017, the network tried to do so with Midnight, Texas. Despite their different levels of popularity, these two series are more similar than they seem, with both based on Charlaine Harris books. While True Blood is based on her Southern Vampire Mysteries series, Midnight, Texas adapts a trilogy of the same name. This ties the two series closely together, but even so,Midnight, Texas is too often forgotten.
