Deepfake AI content has been all over social media lately. Even though creepy fake videos and images of celebs often surface online, not much is done to stop such content. The latest to speak out on the issue is Mouni Roy. The actress - who has been busy promoting her film The Bhootnii, featuring Sunny Deol, Palak Tiwari, and Sunny Singh - has showed no qualms in slamming those spreading deepfake videos. For the unversed, Mouni has been extremely active on social media and often gets trolled for her looks, AI edits, and even those 'wrong botox' comments.

In a recent interaction with Zoom, Mouni Roy said she feels disgusted when she sees deepfake AI images and netizens' reactions on them. She said, "I will be very honest here. Initially, when I read those comments, to date, sometimes you see those AI videos, it's so cringe. Imagine how you feel like looking at somebody else. When I saw my face distorted over other people's bodies, it was disgusting." The actress admitted to feeling why would anybody do it and what motive they had. "Because all you are collecting are people's curses and bad wishes. And nobody can wish well for somebody who is doing that." As the actress said, she'd initially visit each profile to block them because she didn't understand social media. But now she feels it is important to pray for such people.

The actress also shared how her response to hate comments has changed over time. While she can't ignore the love and appreciation she gets from fans who still want to see her onscreen, she gets concerned about how toxic the internet has turned. "I genuinely feel that section of the internet has become a nasty place, and genuinely concerned where it's heading. They are writing so badly and vicious things about people, just get a life," she added.

The Bhootnii is presented by Zee Studios, Soham Rockstar Entertainment, and Three Dimension Motion Pictures. Produced by Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt, the film will be released in theatres on May 1.
