Tom Hardy in 'MobLand'

MobLand viewers have shared their verdict on the season one finale, with one hailing it “one of the best season finales ever”.

The Paramount+ crime drama wrapped up its debut season over the weekend (June 1), the episode seeing the Harrigan family appear to triumph in their war with rival crime syndicate the Stevensons.

In a action-packed turn of events, Kevin (Paddy Considine) fatally shoots Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell), while Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) prepares to leave prison for discharge as he is cheered on by fellow inmates.

Fans also see Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) offered the chance to switch sides by Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer), which he declines, before he is later stabbed accidentally by wife Jan (Joanne Froggatt).

Viewers have shared huge praise for the season finale, with some calling for a yet-to-be-confirmed second season.

“Just watched the season finale of MobLand and i need season 2 expeditiously,” one wrote on X/Twitter. “Had the time of my life binging this shit. Incredible television.”

Mobland def dropped one of the best season finales ever,” another added, while a third said: “MobLand season finale was a banger. I need season 2 now!!!”

“Just finished the final episode of Mobland and I’m SHOOK, no spoilers, but if Shakespeare, Tarantino, and your favorite villain had a baby, this ending raised it on betrayal, bullets, and brilliance,” a fourth suggested. “This wasn’t a finale. It was a declaration of war.”

“Fuuuuuuck that Mobland finale is how you end a first season of a show. Perfectly done and so many possibilities for s2. Loved it. Possibly the best new show of 2025,” another said.

However, not everyone was on board, a few fans calling it “disappointing” as one wrote: “Can we talk about how underwhelming [the] Mobland season finale was.”

“Well that Mobland season finale was disappointing,” a second added, a third saying: “MobLand – completed it- Not sure if that episode was worthy of season finale.”

MobLand follows Hardy’s character Harry, a fixer for the Harrigans who is tasked with protecting the family’s interests as a gang war escalates, and counts Guy Ritchie as an executive producer.

In NME‘s three-star review, we said: “For all the laugh-out-loud moments and intriguing plot lines, it’s hard to believe Guy Ritchie is still rolling out the same old schtick. It’s as well made a version of this show as you could expect but it’s nothing to get excited about. Lock, Stock feels like a very long time ago indeed.”
