Nearly 30 years ago, Warner Bros. brought professional basketball into the Looney Tunes realm with the box office hit Space Jam. The film was a success, broadly seen as continuing to drive nostalgia with its animation-infused basketball comedy even decades later. With the film following the legendary NBA shooting guard's real-life reentry into the scene after briefly playing Minor League Baseball. But while the NBA has now had two Space Jam crossover stories to its name, a similar treatment has eluded another beloved American sports league, Major League Baseball.
