Netflix's Mindhunter is one of the most frustrating TV cancellations in recent years, and while season 3 looks unlikely to happen, there is another option for reviving the show. Mindhunter is a very unusual crime procedural drama, as it focuses on a different aspect of the criminal investigation process than most other shows. Many of TV's best crime procedural shows tend to center on forensics, profiling, and catching a different criminal every episode. On the other hand, Mindhunter is about the creation of the field of criminal profiling, with many disturbing scenes and comparatively little violence.
