Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown reveals she nearly appeared in a beloved X-Men movie. The actress has worked in various franchises but has yet to appear in a superhero film.

What Marvel movie did Millie Bobby Brown almost star in?

In a new video from Entertainment Weekly, Millie Bobby Brown told Louis Partridge that she auditioned to play the part of X-23 alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in Logan. She ultimately didn’t get the part, but went far enough along in the process to have screen tests with Jackman.

“I screentested with Hugh Jackman when I was like, 11 or 12,” she said, confirming that it was for “the Wolverine movies.” When asked how she felt after not getting the part, Brown said, “Broken. I felt like I probably didn’t get it, because I think there was someone else that was better.”

Logan was released in 2017, a year after Stranger Things debuted on Netflix. Eventually, Dafne Keen landed the role of X-23, or Laura, who reprised the role in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine. The film was critically acclaimed and earned a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination at the Academy Awards. At the time, Logan was the final X-Men film featuring Jackman in the title role. The Australian actor returned to the role in Deadpool & Wolverine, sharing the screen with Ryan Reynolds after years of fan demand.

Since appearing in Stranger Things, Brown has headlined the Enola Holmes films, which follow Sherlock Holmes’ sister. Brown has also appeared in major blockbuster films like the Godzilla franchise and The Electric State. Her first starring role was in the 2013 TV series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

Brown will reunite with her on-screen father from Stranger Things, David Harbour, in a new Netflix show.
