Men are ‘penismaxxing’ to get the biggest boost possible in bed

Sometimes we just wish we were a little more well-endowed.

And when it comes to men, there are inadvisable methods they’ve been using to make their privates a little more substantial.

Whether it’s jelqing (using your hands or weights to stretch your penis), or ballmaxxing, where men are injecting their testicles with saline to temporarily inflate them, guys are getting creative.

Then there’s ‘penismaxxing’, intended to make one’s penis look and perform its best, and under this umbrella falls the latest method being used by men seeking a bigger member.

While it doesn’t involve doing anything to the penis itself, looksmaxxer influencer Braden Eric Peters (known as Clavicular online) shared on a podcast that he uses lypolysis injections on his mons pubis to break down the fat around his genitals.

The mons pubis is the rounded pad of fatty tissue located directly over the pubic bone in the lower abdomen, which, if it’s larger, can result in a buried penis – where a normal sized penis is covered by skin, subcutaneous tissue, and/or fat in the prepubic area.

But how does this work and is it dangerous? We asked doctors for their honest thoughts…

How does this form of penismaxxing work?

Simply put, Dr Babak Ashrafi, GP at Superdrug Online Doctor, explains that fat dissolving injections are used to reduce pockets of fat in specific areas of the body.

‘Around the pubic region, reducing excess fat above the penis can make more of the shaft visible, creating the appearance of increased length,’ he tells Metro.

‘It’s important to understand this doesn’t actually enlarge the penis itself, it simply changes the surrounding tissue, which may make it look more prominent.

‘Weight loss could also improve cardiovascular health, blood flow and, in some cases, erectile function.’

But just because influencers like Clavicular use this method doesn’t mean it’s advisable in the UK.

‘While a number of fat-dissolving products are used in UK aesthetic practice… there are currently no fat-dissolving injections specifically licensed for enlarging the penis or reducing the mons pubis to enhance penile appearance,’ Dr Shirin Lakhani, an intimate health specialist, tells Metro.

Dr Ashrafi adds that fat-dissolving injections shouldn’t be purchased over the counter for this use and that men should avoid the ‘online black market for injectable products’, including substances marketed as fat dissolving treatments.

‘These products may be counterfeit, contaminated, incorrectly dosed or contain undisclosed ingredients, putting people at risk of serious complications,’ he says. ‘Any injectable treatment should only be prescribed and administered by a qualified healthcare professional following an appropriate medical assessment.’

The physical risks of this penismaxxing method

It’s important to stress that you should not be trying this at home, as it comes with significant risks.

‘The pubic area is a highly sensitive anatomical area containing important blood vessels, nerves and delicate tissues,’ Dr Lakhani explains. ‘Any injectable treatment performed close to the genital region requires careful assessment and significant clinical expertise.

‘Potential risks include pain, swelling, bruising, infection, skin irregularities, asymmetry, scarring and damage to surrounding structures.’

Dr Ashrafi adds that in severe cases, there could be permanent cosmetic deformity, and your sexual function could be impacted, too.

How many men are seeking treatments like this?

Both doctors admit they regularly receive enquiries from men about penis enlargement and intimate concerns, but this isn’t new.

‘Demand for treatments relating to erectile dysfunction and penile enhancement has existed for many years,’ Dr Lakhani says. ‘What’s changing is the influence of social media and online trends, which can encourage people to experiment with treatments that may not be medically appropriate or safe.

‘While I have seen growing interest in aesthetic procedures among men, I strongly caution against attempting any injectable treatment in this area without proper medical supervision.’

It tracks, with a study from Adoreal revealing a 30% increase in aesthetic inquiries from men in 2025, with one of their most booked treatments for men being fat removal.

Dr Ashrafi admits that there’s been a significant increase in men seeking weight-loss injectables and fat-dissolving injections in the past couple of years, too.

‘Many men are becoming more proactive about their health and body image,’ he explains, ‘and effective weight loss can reduce fat around the lower abdomen and pubic area, which may improve confidence and make the penis appear more visible.’

Ultimately, both medical professionals agree that maintaining a healthy weight is the best course of action for optimising the appearance of your penis, and that no medical intervention should be attempted without a professional.
