The mutants have technically been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for several years, but Marvel Studios has remained unusually patient about assembling the X-Men. Recent projects have introduced mutant characters, referenced the genetic mutation behind their powers, and even revisited the universe of Fox's X-Men movies without establishing the MCU's own version of the team.
