Love Is Blind alum Mallory Zapata wed her Hinge match in a beautiful hometown ceremony. Zapata rose to fame as a contestant in Season 2 of the popular Netflix dating experiment reality series. Her journey on the show led to an engagement with Salvador “Sal” Perez. However, they did not end up getting married at the altar.

Former reality TV star Mallory Zapata has officially tied the knot and begun a new chapter in her life.

The Love Is Blind star married Rigoberto Limas on Friday, September 18, in Chicago. The pair celebrated their love with an intimate hometown ceremony at Rockwell on the River, surrounded by 182 loved ones.

In an interview with PEOPLE, the 37-year-old explained that Chicago was the obvious choice for their big day. Zapata said, “Chicago is our hometown and, in our opinion, the best city in the world — so why would we go anywhere else?”

The bride added, “It’s the city that shaped both of us and is such a big part of who we are individually and as a couple. It felt right to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people we love in the city we love.”

Zapata shared that what started as an idea for a small, intimate event soon turned into a much larger celebration. She said that they wanted to make the only wedding truly memorable.

When it came to the atmosphere of their celebration, the couple envisioned a “clean, classic and romantic” event that combined Zapata’s Polish roots with their shared Mexican culture. “We chose a mostly black-and-white palette, accented with deep merlot florals to bring in warmth and romance,” she explained. “We wanted everything to be elevated and beautiful, but still very much like us.”

Elaborating on the vision, Mallory Zapata said that she and her partner wanted the day to honor their love and the loved ones who had stood by them throughout their journey. The bride added that they wanted a romantic and meaningful day with great food, dancing, and fun for everyone.
