Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband and renowned businessman Sunjay Kapur passed away at the age of 53. The news of his sudden demise left everyone shocked as it surfaced on the night of June 12. He was a passionate polo player and successful entrepreneur. He had reportedly participated in a polo match in the UK when he suffered a heart attack. As per a report by the Times of India, the heart attack may have been triggered after a bee entered his mouth while he was riding. Despite prompt medical assistance, Sunjay could be saved.

Four days before his untimely death, Sunjay shared a post on his social media that has now gone viral. He shared a quote that read, "Your time on earth is limited. Leave the 'what ifs' to the philosophers and instead dive headfirst into the 'why nots.'" He wrote, "Progress demands bold choices, not perfect conditions. #MondayMotivation."

Sunjay was a well-known figure in Bollywood, recognized for his achievements in the business world. He was the chairman of Sona Comstar (formerly Sona BLW Precision), a key player in the automotive components industry. Sunjay also served on the boards of several prominent companies and was actively engaged with organizations across sectors. Sunjay, was elected as the chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) northern region.

On the work front, Sunjay was married to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor in 2003, and their wedding was one of the most talked-about shaadis in the industry. But, after facing issues in their wedding, they separated in 2014. They remained cordial with their kids - Samaira and Kiaan. Sunjay married Priya Sachdeva and continued his life.
