Trump’s NFL advertisements
President Trump on Monday said that he will now pay for ads played during NFL and college football broadcasts, which have drawn backlash from Democrats and some Republicans, including RINO Senate Leader John Thune (R-SD).
“The Radical Left is upset with the fact that I am taking Ads, which I consider to be a positive promotion for our Great U.S.A., and paying for them with U.S.A. money,” Trump said.
The ad, which the White House has described as “educational and unapologetically patriotic” public service announcements, features Trump’s statements about draining the swamp, ridding the government of Communists, and liberating America “from these villains once and for all.”
It reads more like an advertisement for nationalism and staying vigilant of the Marxist threat before us.
“This is the final battle. With you at my side. We will demolish the deep state. We will expel the war mongers from our government. We will drive out the globalists, we will cast out the Communists, Marxists, and Fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. We will rout the fake news media, and we will liberate America from these villains once and for all,” Trump says in the ad.
At the end of the ad, a disclaimer reads: “Paid for by the U.S. Government.”

“These public service announcements are about reminding Americans to love their country and understand what makes it worth defending, at home, at our borders, and abroad. The ad is educational and unapologetically patriotic. We should be proud of our country,” a White House spokesperson said of the ads.
Additionally, as noted by the White House in a recent press release, presidential public service announcements are nothing new and have been used for self-promotion in the past:
The G.W. Bush Administration ran a national television campaign explaining the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act to seniors. It also bought Super Bowl airtime for anti-drug and anti-terrorism public service announcements. The Obama Administration used national advertising to promote Obamacare subsidies and open enrollment, and a digital campaign to sell its Waters of the United States rule. The Biden Administration poured hundreds of millions of dollars into “We Can Do This” — television, digital, radio, and print spots — to drive a nationwide public health message. It’s not just modern Administrations. President Woodrow Wilson’s Committee on Public Information used posters, films, and speakers to rally the country. President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Office of War Information produced films, radio, and posters to promote the war effort.Still, the ads have thrown the Democratic Party into a spiral, accusing Trump of breaking the law despite him not being on the ballot in November and being termed out of office in 2028.
Even some Republicans are decrying Trump. Senate Leader John Thune said, “It’s a great message. I like the message, but it shouldn’t be paid for by taxpayer dollars.” Likewise, Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) said recently on CBS, “I don’t think any public official, including President Trump … should spend public money on private ads for themselves.”
“We all know you’re not supposed to use taxpayer money for that purpose,” said outgoing Senator John Cornyn.
Trump defended the move during a press conference in the Oval Office last week, however, arguing, “Well, I’m not running for office, first of all, and so the ads are, you know, given by me, but I’m not running for office, and I don’t talk about anybody.”
“If I was talking about Dan Sullivan, if I was talking about anybody behind me that’s a politician like Nick, if I read that’s a political ad. But when I’m talking about making America great, making our country great, that’s a countrywide ad. That’s an ad for the spirit of our country,” he continued.
“Now, if somebody said that that’s wrong, I’ll gladly pay the money, but these are ads for the country. These aren’t ads — I’m not promoting, you have to understand, I’m not promoting a candidate. I’m not promoting myself because I’m not running for office. I’m promoting the country,” Trump added over the leftist reporter’s interruptions.

On Monday, Trump announced that he will “do the Patriotic Ads, among others, and pay for them myself, and with money I raised for MAGA, Inc.,” while noting that, regardless, “nothing will make them happy.”
The Radical Left is upset with the fact that I am taking Ads, which I consider to be a positive promotion for our Great U.S.A., and paying for them with U.S.A. money. This is a rather standard thing to do but, rather than doing that, although nothing will make them happy, I have decided to do the Patriotic Ads, among others, and pay for them myself, and with money I raised for MAGA, Inc. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP
