Jurassic World Rebirth is eying a huge opening weekend at the box office.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World Rebirth arrives in United States theaters in less than a month. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and more.
How much is Jurassic World Rebirth expected to make in its opening weekend?
There’s been much speculation regarding how Jurassic World Rebirth will do at the United States box office, considering it’ll face some heavy competition later on in the month, as both Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps also open in July. According to Deadline, fans of the franchise don’t have too much to worry about, as Jurassic World Rebirth is tracking to make around $115M-$135M during its five-day opening weekend.
Jurassic World Dominion, in comparison, opened to around $145 million during its three-day weekend. The only other Jurassic movie that debuted over a five-day holiday weekend was Jurassic Park III, which did $85 million.
The synopsis for the new movie reads, “Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
“Academy Award nominee Johansson plays skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure the genetic material. When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on a forbidden island that had once housed an undisclosed research facility for Jurassic Park. There, in a terrain populated by dinosaurs of vastly different species, they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.”
Jurassic World Rebirth opens in United States theaters on July 2, 2025, from Universal Pictures.
