The mighty Jupiter, the largest planet in the Solar System, visits a new zodiac sign each year taking twelve years to complete his cycle. This year, he returns to Cancer on June 9 – having last entered the Crab in 2013.

Jupiter has a wonderful reputation for bringing positivity and optimism in its wake. So, what can we expect collectively over the next year, and for each of the 12 zodiac signs?

Well, we’re gifted some lovely possibilities. Cancer is ruled by the Moon and is a sign in which Jupiter thrives, as it’s considered exalted here, which can bring additional cosmic blessings.

It can help us bring out the best in ourselves, encouraging us to engage with all the energies that are so precious to Cancer: security, protectiveness, cherishing close bonds and looking to grow these qualities wherever we can.

Jupiter is also the traditional ruler of Cancer’s sister Water sign Pisces, so it feels particularly comfortable gliding through this part of the sky. This is going to be a unique time to develop greater emotional perspective, intuition, nurture and sensitivity in all that we do.

Jupiter is the planet associated with good fortune, and in traditional astrology, is known as the Greater Benefic. But it isn’t always smooth sailing. If we assume everything will simply fall into our laps without any effort, we may end up disappointed. While Jupiter can be linked to one-off windfalls, kismet and serendipity, more often the harder we work, the luckier we’ll get!

If you’re looking to improve or move home, add to your family or find greater inner peace or healing, the next year can be a very powerful time. Yet just as Jupiter arrives in Cancer, it’s impacted by a planet with diametrically opposite energies, Saturn. While Jupiter looks to expand, Saturn limits, inhibits and restricts.

Stern Saturn is now located in the fiery sign of Aries — and Fire and Water, of course, don’t naturally mix. Aries can be assertive, brusque and impatient, and the two planets clash in a tense square for the fourth time of the last 12 months, exactly on June 15. This rare planetary influence only occurs once every decade, so it brings an edgier dimension, one we can still work with, though we might face some frustrations along the way.

The star signs most affected by Jupiter in Cancer

Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are impacted most because they are powerfully activated by Jupiter.

For Cancers the next year can see some wonderful new beginnings, and you can head in a new direction – especially if you’ve been more inclined to a safety-first approach in the past. If you’re a natural bohemian, you can really go for it in a fresh and dynamic way. Even if you’re someone usually happiest in a familiar setting, anything dull and stodgy can make way for all that is vibrant and bright.

For Libras you’ll be more self-assured about setting your targets and raising your profile. You’re sometimes viewed as a people person, and keen to maintain balance and equilibrium in all you do. But the next year can see you in the spotlight and gaining greater recognition and success. Set your sights high and go for it with confidence and conviction. Your star is very much in the ascendant, Libra!

For Capricorns your relationship sector is lit up by Jupiter’s arrival, which also links to the planet of communication, Mercury in a sparkling combination. You will have the gift of connection over the next year, which can be an exciting time for deeper, more meaningful relationships. Your ruler Saturn is also in the mix, urging you to break free from any tie which no longer fully meets your deepest needs.

The key over the next year is to listen carefully to our instincts and inner voice, as they will guide us in just the right direction. Saturn insists we keep it real, for if we get too emotional, we might lose our edge. So, weighing up the practical downsides of situations will be just as important as being attuned to our feelings.

Jupiter also goes into its annual retrograde for four months, from November 11, 2025 through to March 11, 2026. This can be a time when things slow down and we become more introspective. Despite this, if we keep believing, embrace Jupiter’s ample encouragement and support, apply ourselves diligently and most of all, avoid being overly optimistic, by the end of June next year when he prepares to enter Leo, we can reap lasting and significant rewards from all things Jupiter in Cancer.
