This fall, American Hostage will put Jon Hamm into a life-and-death situation. The new anthology series has yet to premiere, but will make its debut exclusively on MGM+ next month. However, the series' creators are already looking into a second season. Collider's Meredith Loftus spoke with American Hostage co-creators Shawn Ryan and Eileen Myers at the Televerse conference over the weekend. American Hostage stars Hamm as Fred Heckman, a radio newscaster in 1970s Indianapolis. He's the most trusted name in news in the Midwestern city, which soon proves to his detriment when disaffected businessman Tony Kiritsis (Giovanni Ribisi) takes his mortgage broker, Dick Hall (Kristoffer Polaha), hostage with a 12-gauge shotgun and will only speak to Heckman.
