Joe’s cruelest act yet confirmed in Emmerdale spoiler video as Billy is staggered beyond belief

Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) should know by know that there are very little depths to which Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) won’t sink in Emmerdale but even by Joe’s typical standards, what he does next is beyond cruel.

The Home Farm favourite has been bereft in the wake of Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) death, with loved ones Kim (Claire King) and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) incredibly worried about him.

Dawn died on the day she was due to wed Joe, with Jimmy King (Nick Miles) swerving to avoid an oncoming vehicle and driving straight through the marquee where the wedding was due to take place.

The bride-to-be was taken to Hotten General, where she went into labour earlier than expected, welcoming a baby boy, much to the delight of Joe, who thought he could never be this happy.

Much like always in soapland, that happiness was ripped away moments later when Dawn suffered a postpartum haemorrhage and died in emotional scenes.

Consumed by grief, Joe has felt unable to be around his baby son. Earlier this week, Kim convinced him to pay the little one a visit and he did just that – but later stunned his nearest and dearest when he returned home to announce that he was putting his newborn up for adoption.

Billy was similarly taken aback to hear such a thing and urged Kim to get Joe to reconsider. With attention turning to the planning of Dawn’s funeral, emotions are running high next week – and Billy is left staggered by what Joe decides.

The above video clip, taken from Thursday’s (September 17) edition of the ITV soap, sees Billy rail at Joe for banning not only him from Dawn’s funeral – but also her beloved kids Clemmie and Lucas.

Billy urges him to reconsider, promising that he’ll stay away so long as Clemmie and Lucas are allowed to attend. Joe, however, makes it clear that he won’t be changing his mind.

Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) overhears the discussion and is appalled but her efforts to help prove fruitless, with Billy reminding her that Dawn wouldn’t be dead if she and Caleb (William Ash) hadn’t delayed their plans to flee.

Can Billy make Joe reconsider? Will Ruby be able to help?

Subsequent scenes will see her pay Joe a visit – but can she break through his grief and make him see sense?
