Jhanak stars Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja in lead roles. Audiences love their on-screen chemistry and the makers add high-voltage drama in their upcoming episodes. Jhanak will undergo a dramatic generation leap and the current cast will bid farewell to the show. The ardent fans of Jhanak are quite disappointed with the same. The makers plan to boost TRP ratings and will be roping in new actors to replace the lead stars.
As per reports, Erica Fernandes and Zohaib Siddiqui were initially in talks. It was stated that the two stars would be headlining the show. But, as the latest developments reveal the production house has locked in three leads for their show. Yes, you read that right!
As per a report in Filmibeat, Arjit Taneja, Twinkle Arora, and Riya Sharma have been finalized as the new leads. Moreover, current characters played by Hiba and Krushal will be shown dead following the leap. The new actors are expected to commence shooting soon. Well, an official announcement from the channel and production house is awaited.
Actor Arjit Taneja wrapped up shooting for Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gye, while Riya Sharma was last seen in Dhruv Tara and Twinkle Arora grabbed attention with her role in Udaariyaan. As per reports, the decision to introduce a generation leap, was reportedly after the programming team of Star Plus issued IPL 2025 to the production house to achieve a TRP of 2. As per an industry source who was quoted by Filmibeat, Jhanak is performing well and the channel is pushing for higher numbers.
"The channel and the production house have made up their mind to introduce a generation leap after IPL 2025. Star Plus has issued a diktat to the production house to increase the ratings or shut shop. Jhanak is doing well in terms of ratings at the 10:30 pm slot; however, the channel is unhappy with the numbers. They want the show to generate at least 2 TVRs in the late-night slot. One has to consider that shows like Jaadu Teri Nazar, Anupama, and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai have also witnessed a massive drop in their viewership. It seems the channel is only focusing on Jhanak, which is a bit unfair," said the media portal.
