James Cameron's Sci-Fi Blockbuster Officially Hits a Major Streaming Milestone

When it comes to making great sci-fi movies, few directors are operating at the same level as James Cameron. The only few directors in the same air as Cameron are Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, and Steven Spielberg, but Cameron has added more to his career box office total than any of them except Spielberg. While Cameron’s work on the Avatar movies are the first that come to mind for modern audiences, he’s also famous for his work directing Titanic, which is the sixth-highest-grossing movie of all time. What makes this even more impressive is that it was released all the way back in 1997, so when factoring in inflation, it earned much more than just $2.2 billion. Cameron’s first Avatar movie is still the highest-grossing in history, with a lead of more than $100 million over Avengers: Endgame.
