Jack Wagner Says Nick Can ‘Have a Life on Bold & Beautiful’ After Return

After a long gap, Jack Wagner is returning to The Bold and the Beautiful as Nick Marone. The veteran actor, who first joined the show in 2003, is already one of the most defining figures in the soap world. And now, everything about Nick Marone is about to change. The actor shed light on Marone’s future in a recent interview.

Jack Wagner was in the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful from March 2003 till February 2012. While he did appear in 2022 as a part of the soap’s 35th anniversary, the show later revealed that his appearance was inside Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) mind.

But this time, Nick Marone will be back as a major character again. As per Jack Wagner’s interview with Soap Opera Digest, there will also be plenty of changes in Nick. “He’s advanced in the shipping world and now runs Marone Shipping, and I would call him a shipping tycoon…He’s a very wealthy man. He’s an international, world-traveling shipping tycoon businessman,” Wagner said about Nick Marone.

So, Nick has become a rich man now, and is not the same character who sailed off in his boat over a decade ago. But bank balance is not the only thing that changed about Nick. He is also much more confident now.

“I thought the key for him was to be fearless — that was the key to the storyline working….So when Ridge [Thorsten Kaye] would enter and there’d be any kind of butting heads, I treated it as though there was a fly on Nick’s shoulder….It gave us a lot of comedy because Ridge isn’t used to being treated that way. So the things that I improvised and did were a little shocking, but I think it fed into the rivalry as well as battling for Brooke’s love,” added Wagner, previewing his character’s upcoming arc.

Wagner also spoke in this interview about being able to work with Katherine Kelly Lang and his delight at returning to Bold and Beautiful.

Nick Marone’s summer arc will perhaps be one of the most exciting things on Soap Opera this year.
