Two Prime Ministers from different political camps, united by one cause.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is a right-winger; Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stands on the left – but today, August 10, the two leaders came together to combat the scourge of unchecked mass migration.

Politico reported:
“We are aware that many might be wondering about our cooperation. We come from very different political backgrounds, and we certainly do not agree on everything,” Meloni posted in a ‘joint message’ on Facebook, sharing an archival photo of herself and Frederiksen.
‘We do not accept uncontrolled immigration to Europe, and we have promoted a strict immigration policy, both in our Nations and in Europe’, the statement continued.

The invasion of the Spanish North African enclave of Ceuta brought to the world the absolute tragedy that Europe has been living in the last decade.
Reacting to the crisis, Denmark and Italy sent a joint letter to the European Commission.
The two countries – joined by 20 other European leaders – demand ‘immediate action’ at the EU’s external borders.
Italy has harshly criticized Spain’s socialist government and its ruinous migration policies, going as far as establishing border controls for travelers arriving from Spain.
And now, Denmark has joined the struggle.
“’We are both proud of Europe’s Christian cultural heritage and want to protect it. We expect those who come to our countries and choose to make Europe their home to respect our values and not seek to impose ways of life on us that we do not share’, they said.”

The Italian and Danish PMs demand return hubs in third countries and warn of crime, strained services, and eroding trust. They also call for protecting Europe’s Christian heritage.

Euronews reported:
“The statement notes that the two are the only female leaders of European governments and, despite coming from different political backgrounds and geographical realities, are united by a shared commitment to defending Europe.
[…] ‘No one can deny the negative impacts of illegal immigration on our societies: rising crime rates, increasing pressure on public services and an erosion of public trust. It is particularly serious when illegal migrants, who have no right to remain in our countries, commit violent crimes, traffic drugs or are responsible for sexual violence’, the post reads.”
The leaders say that ordinary citizens have paid too high a price for uncontrolled migration for too long.
