Final Fantasy 9 is officially making a comeback in a huge way, even if the long-rumored remake has not yet been announced by Square Enix. As the game celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, players hoped that the leaks about a potential remake for Final Fantasy 9 were true and that it would be announced as part of the celebrations for the iconic JRPG. 2025 went by, and Square Enix made no indication that a remake of the classic game is in the works.
