The director of The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 2, spoke about that brutal scene and also dished on the changes between the game and the show. The second episode of The Last of Us Season 2 aired last night on Max, and it finally featured the horrifying scene fans of the game had been dreading. After getting Joel (Pedro Pascal) back to the lodge, Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and her gang of Wolves get the chance to exact revenge. There are some changes in this scene, including Dina (Isabela Merced) being there at the lodge instead of Tommy (Gabriel Luna), and Manny (Danny Ramirez) not spitting on Joel’s dead body and calling him a “pendejo.” Director Mark Mylod (Succession) spoke to Variety about these changes and what led them to leave some things on the cutting room floor:
