Stephen King-inspired horror collides with offbeat comedy in Widow’s Bay.

Created by Katie Dippold, the show follows the mayor of an island town who is striving to bring in more tourism, while being dismissive of a supernatural curse affecting the residents.

Matthew Rhys leads the show’s cast, alongside Kate O’Flynn, Kevin Carroll, Dale Dickey, Kingston Rumi and Stephen Root.

Widow’s Bay premiered on Apple TV on April 29 this year, with the remaining episodes airing weekly until June 17, 2026.

Is Widow’s Bay season 2 happening?

Apple renewed Widow’s Bay for a second season on June 11, 2026, a week prior to the season one finale.

Speaking about the second season, creator Katie Dippold said: “Season two is about how everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about.”

Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV, said: “From the moment audiences arrived in Widow’s Bay, they’ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laughs, and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew and the entire team have created.

“It’s become one of those shows everyone’s talking about, and we’re thrilled to see audiences continue to embrace it. We can’t wait to return for another season.”

Is there a release date for season 2?

Apple has not announced a release date for season two. At the time of writing, it’s unclear when filming will begin too, so it could be a while off yet.
