As the Middle East tensions spread around the planet, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is issuing a threat against US warships way beyond the embattled Strait of Hormuz.

Iran is vowing to attack US warships in the Indian Ocean if Washington resumes attacks against the country.

The Telegraph reported:

“The threat came after Donald Trump, the US president, said he had rejected an Iranian proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end fighting in the Middle East and warned of a renewed bombing campaign after the US midterm elections in November.

‘If another war breaks out, we will undoubtedly attack and hit their ships and destroyers even in the Indian Ocean’, Ali Mohammadi, the deputy political commander of the IRGC navy, said in comments published by the semi-official Fars News Agency.”

Yesterday, President Donald J. Trump rejected Iran’s latest proposal for a seven-day truce, arguing that the Iranians are weakened and desperate for an agreement.

“’They want to make a deal to open the Hormuz Strait immediately, because they’re losing so badly’, the US president told reporters at the White House. He also posted an image of Hormuz labelled as ‘Trump Strait’ on social media.”

This latest IRGC threat comes after reports arise that British police are probing Iranian links to the foiled terrorist attack to RAF Fairford airbase.

Five men have been detained on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act.

“Counter Terrorism Policing detectives leading the response are said to be investigating whether the alleged plot is linked to Iran, according to The Times.

Detectives are reported to be keeping an open mind but one line of inquiry is likely to be whether the incident is linked to Tehran because the base hosts the United States Air Force (USAF) and has been used to launch operations against Iran.”
