When a show that's clearly meant for a niche audience manages to enter the mainstream despite a negligible marketing push, you know it's going to be something out of the ordinary. Viewers across the world seem to be deciding for themselves if Netflix's new eight-part horror series is actually as good as everyone says it is. Created by Haley Z. Boston and executive-produced by the Duffer Brothers, the show has now spent a full week on the streamer's viewership rankings. It's competing against a Nordic noir mystery series, Jo Nesbø's Detective Hole, and the recently released third season of XO, Kitty, the spin-off to Netflix's popular teen romance film trilogy To All the Boys I've Loved Before.
