Jamie Laing‘s wife Sophie Habboo has made a massive U-turn and will now be seen giving birth on screen in their brand new Disney+ series, Raising Chelsea: Jamie and Sophie’s Next Chapter.

The couple have lifted the lid on the deeply personal moment being captured for TV, with Sophie admitting she was unsure at first about letting cameras in.

But after a surprise change of heart, the footage made the final cut and fans will see it all unfold.

With the launch just around the corner, Sophie explained: “With the birth scene, we really didn’t expect to go in there.

“I didn’t actually want to film that, but it’s there and it’s real and that is the story and that is what happened. I’ve just gone for it.”

Jamie, 37, was quick to add: “Can I just caveat that I didn’t force Sophie to film the birth scene!”

Sophie then revealed how it all came about.

“No, what actually happened was my anaesthetist took my phone and filmed the whole thing,” she said.

“When I’d given birth and we were looking through the photos, we were like, ‘Oh my God, the whole thing’s been filmed’.

“And actually, it made us feel really emotional and obviously it was the greatest day of our lives.

“We thought, ‘Do you know what? It happens, it’s real life’ and we put it in there.”

Here is everything you need to know about Raising Chelsea: Jamie and Sophie’s Next Chapter, including when it lands on Disney+.

Raising Chelsea: Jamie and Sophie’s Next Chapter trailer

The new series follows Jamie and Sophie through pregnancy, the run up to welcoming baby Ziggy in December 2025, and life afterwards.

Viewers will see the reality of their changing lifestyle as they prepare for parenthood and adjust to life as a family.

The couple recently dropped a teaser trailer on social media. It shows them sitting in director’s chairs with their names on the back, alongside a smaller chair for their newborn son.

Jamie teased fans with the caption: “Ready to meet our newest family member…? Raising Chelsea, coming soon to Disney+.”

‘No-holds-barred whirlwind journey’

According to the official synopsis, the show will follow Sophie’s pregnancy, their move into a £12 million London home, and their first experiences as parents.

It will also show how they balance busy careers while caring for a newborn.

The synopsis explains: “Jamie and Sophie’s on-screen journey in their twenties gripped audiences across the globe on hit Channel 4 series Made in Chelsea.”

Their new show promises “a no-holds-barred whirlwind journey of the next chapter in their lives”.

The pair have shared their excitement about bringing this stage of their lives to viewers.

In a statement last year, they said: “For nearly a decade, we’ve brought audiences along the highs and lows of our personal and professional lives.

“It’s such an honour to now partner with the incredible teams at Disney+ and Dorothy St Pictures to bring our next chapter to viewers across the globe.

“Navigating our lives with a baby on the way has opened up a whole new stage of our relationship. We can’t wait to give you a front row seat!”

Jamie also shared at the time: “A real pinch-me moment for us… Our own series on Disney+ coming soon!!! Seriously without your endless support we wouldn’t be here now creating it.”

Jamie and Sophie’s relationship

The couple first met while filming Made In Chelsea, where their friendship eventually turned into a romance after several ups and downs.

Jamie proposed in December 2021 at London’s Rosewood Hotel, the same place they had their first date.

They married in April 2023 in London before celebrating again in Marbella the following month.

Ahead of their wedding, they launched their podcast NearlyWeds, which later became NearlyParents when Sophie fell pregnant.

The show has followed their journey closely, from pregnancy updates to choosing a baby name. Their son Ziggy was born on December 4 2025.

When does Raising Chelsea: Jamie and Sophie’s Next Chapter start?

Disney+ has now confirmed when viewers can tune in and it is not long to wait.

Raising Chelsea: Jamie and Sophie’s Next Chapter lands on Disney+ on Thursday April 2, 2026.

The mini series will consist of three episodes, each around an hour long.

Episode one begins in December 2024 when the couple started trying for a baby and follows the early stages of pregnancy.

The second episode was filmed 19 weeks before Sophie gave birth, while the third captures the big moment itself, with Sophie going into labour and things not entirely going to plan.

It is set to be an emotional watch from start to finish.
