The NASCAR Cup Series Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway took a dramatic turn on Sunday when veteran driver Kyle Busch found himself in serious trouble following a multi-car incident during green flag pit stops. Busch, who started the race from an impressive second position and briefly led on Lap 23, was looking to break his winless streak dating back to June 2023. However, his hopes were dashed on Lap 43 when chaos erupted during pit entry.
“I don’t know how to fix it but I need help,” Kyle Busch radioed to his Richard Childress Racing team in a rare admission of vulnerability from the typically confident two-time Cup Series champion. After making hard contact with the No. 6 car, Busch had trouble with his car’s handling. And this issue persisted even after he got back on track after the repair job.
One lap down got out before the second lap down. Steering wheel is off so going to use this lap to see what’s up and then head back in

The accident occurred when several cars attempted to enter the pit road. Kyle Busch made contact with Brad Keselowski, sending both cars spinning. Ryan Blaney was collected in the melee, suffering a broken toe link that sent him to the garage for repairs. Keselowski’s car was totaled, ending his day prematurely.
“One lap down got out before the second lap down. Steering wheel is off so going to use this lap to see what’s up and then head back in,” Busch’s wife, Samantha, tweeted during the race, providing real-time updates on her husband’s situation. Busch managed to return to the track after repairs, but reported his steering wheel was “90 degrees to the right,” indicating significant alignment issues.
This is a developing story.
